Xos Mobile Charging Hub Surpasses 1 GWh of Energy Delivered
As fleets electrify, charging capacity does not always arrive on the same timeline as the vehicles. Operating data from one Xos Hub shows how mobile, grid-independent charging can support vehicles when permanent infrastructure or utility upgrades aren't available.

The Xos Hub combines battery storage and vehicle charging in a towable system, letting you move charging capacity to locations where permanent infrastructure or sufficient grid capacity may not yet be available.

A single Xos Hub mobile charging system has delivered more than 1 gigawatt-hour (GWh) of energy in commercial operation, giving Xos several years of operating data on the grid-independent charging system.
The unit has delivered 1,020,143.6 kWh of energy across more than 33,600 charging sessions, according to Xos. The Hub is a mobile energy storage and charging system designed to provide commercial vehicle charging without permanent charging infrastructure or utility upgrades.
The unit entered heavy-duty service in early 2025 and has operated near-continuously since. Xos reports that it has averaged between 1,800 and 2,000 kWh of energy delivery per day.
Across Xos' connected fleet of Hub systems, more than 5 GWh of energy has been delivered to date.
Putting Mobile Charging to Work
Xos Hubs have been deployed in different climates and applications, ranging from Northeast winters to Arizona summers. The systems have charged trucks, passenger vehicles, buses, and autonomous vehicles, and have also supported fleet operations and disaster response.
The operating milestone comes as fleets continue to face one of electrification's biggest challenges: getting enough power to where vehicles need to charge.
Unlike a permanent charging installation, the Hub combines battery storage and charging equipment in a deployable system. That gives fleets the option to add charging capacity while waiting for permanent infrastructure or utility upgrades, as well as to support temporary or changing charging needs.
Xos Expands Charging Options
Xos has also been expanding the capacity and applications of its charging systems.
In January 2026, the company introduced Hub configurations with capacities of up to 630 kWh. In June, it introduced the Power Hub, a containerized system available in 1.2-, 2.5-, and 4.0-MWh configurations for larger power requirements.
The systems are also being deployed beyond traditional commercial fleet charging. Xcel Energy ordered three Hub systems in Colorado to support EV fleet charging at service centers and residential customers during grid upgrade construction.
Xos also received an agreement from the U.S. Air Force in August to provide deployable charging for electrified equipment and vehicles in field environments. The Xos Hub received UL 2202 certification that same month.
