Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) announced new initiatives to enhance the charging experience and convenience for drivers of the 2026 Toyota bZ battery electric vehicles (BEVs). The new model year introduces performance and range improvements, along with expanded DC fast charging access and technology updates designed to simplify EV ownership.
Expanded Charging Network
The 2026 Toyota bZ lineup will provide access to more than 25,000 DC fast charging plugs across North America through the Tesla Supercharger Network. Drivers can also continue using other networks, including IONNA, ChargePoint, and EVgo.

Owners will be able to locate Tesla Superchargers and other compatible SAE J3400 North American Charging System (NACS) chargers using the Toyota app.
The new models also feature Plug & Charge capability, allowing charging to begin automatically once plugged in, following a one-time setup through the Toyota app. The Tesla Supercharger Network will be the first Plug & Charge-enabled option for 2026 Toyota BEVs, with IONNA, ChargePoint, and EVgo support to follow.
“The BEV ecosystem differs from that of traditional vehicles, but our focus is on ensuring a reliable ownership experience,” said Thibaut de Barros Conti, vice president of Business Development, TMNA.

Beginning in November, 2023–2025 Toyota bZ4X owners will receive a letter directing them to contact their dealer to obtain a complimentary NACS charging adapter.
