U.S. News & World Report named three Kia vehicles to its recent “Best Hybrid and Electric Car” awards program.
The 2027 Telluride HEV, 2026 Niro HEV, and 2026 Sportage HEV each received top honors in their respective categories, based on performance, efficiency, and overall value.
Across 19 categories, U.S. News editors evaluated 138 vehicles using a composite score that includes Best Car Rankings, fuel economy, range, and EPA energy consumption data.
“These wins reflect Kia’s continued focus on offering a range of electrified vehicles,” said Eric Watson, vice president of sales operations, Kia America, in an April 24 news release. “We are especially encouraged to see the Telluride HEV recognized alongside the Niro and Sportage.”
“The Sportage plug-in hybrid, the Telluride hybrid, and the Niro stand out for fuel efficiency and overall usability,” said Alex Kwanten, managing editor of Autos at U.S. News & World Report. “Each offers space, features and value in its segment.”
Powertrain and Efficiency
The 2027 Telluride HEV introduces a hybrid powertrain to the model lineup. It combines a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with a 1.65-kWh lithium-ion battery and dual electric motors, producing a combined 329 horsepower and 339 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Telluride HEV is rated at an EPA-estimated 35 mpg combined and offers a total driving range of up to 637 miles for the EX front-wheel-drive trim.
