PITT OHIO has donated two Tritium RTM 75-kW DC fast chargers to the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) to support the college's automotive and transportation education programs.

The chargers will provide students with hands-on experience using electric vehicle charging equipment as transportation technologies continue to evolve. CCAC said the equipment will support educational programs focused on technologies being adopted across the transportation, logistics and automotive industries.

According to PITT OHIO, the donation is part of the company's workforce development and sustainability initiatives and supports partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations.

"The transportation industry is evolving, and today's students will play an important role in shaping what comes next," said Taki Darakos, vice president of vehicle maintenance at PITT OHIO. "Sustainability is about more than reducing our environmental impact. It's about helping prepare future generations for the opportunities ahead. We're proud to support CCAC by providing equipment that can help expose students to emerging transportation technologies while supporting learning and workforce development."

CCAC said the chargers will expand hands-on learning opportunities for students pursuing careers in automotive, transportation and technical fields.

"The transportation industry is undergoing significant technological change, and it is critical that students gain experience with the tools and systems shaping its future. These EV chargers will enhance our training programs by providing hands-on learning opportunities that better prepare students for careers in automotive and truck transportation."

Lisa Ladicicco, executive director of Pittsburgh Region Clean Cities, said the donation will provide students with experience using electric vehicle charging infrastructure while supporting workforce development.

PITT OHIO said the donation aligns with its broader sustainability initiatives and workforce development efforts.
