ChargePoint has released a new generation of the ChargePoint Platform, a software suite aimed at helping fleets and other customers manage EV charging across single sites or larger networks, with integration into broader energy systems.
“This platform is intended to help customers manage charging regardless of which charger models they operate,” said Rick Wilmer, CEO of ChargePoint, in a news release.
ChargePoint said the platform is designed for fleet operators, commercial customers, vehicle OEMs, charge point operators, and energy providers. Early adopters have deployed it in settings such as transit depots and highway corridors, according to the company.
“The AI data assistant, enhanced search, and instant session details have made data analysis faster,” said Mitch Johnson, senior manager of Global Real Estate, Energy, and Sustainability at Verizon.
Platform Highlights: Intelligence and Integration
AI-driven optimization: ChargePoint said the platform uses AI to analyze usage patterns, energy supply conditions, station health, and vehicle context to optimize charging schedules, anticipate maintenance needs, support pricing strategies, and reduce downtime.
Maximize charging station utilization with Waitlist: Waitlist is designed to manage charging demand by placing drivers in a virtual queue and sending notifications when a connector becomes available.
Frictionless station activation: ChargePoint said integration between the platform and its Installer App is intended to speed station onboarding and improve activation reliability across multi-site deployments.
Intelligent monitoring and control: Operators can view data through dashboards and scheduled reports, or request information through an AI-based data assistant, according to ChargePoint. The company said the tools are intended to support performance tracking, troubleshooting, and operational decision-making.
Dynamic energy management: ChargePoint said the platform supports load balancing, reduced consumption during peak demand, demand response integration, renewable energy support, and integration with utility pricing signals to help manage energy costs and infrastructure needs.
Smarter pricing: The company said pricing tools can adjust charging rates based on demand, energy costs, congestion, or site objectives, with pricing designed to be transparent and configurable.
Driver experience optimization: ChargePoint said operators can monitor driver experience using analytics, real-time alerts, and issue detection, and can set policies using driver administration tools.
Tailored software packages: ChargePoint said the platform is offered as CMS Suite, with preset licenses for defined use cases, and CMS Studio, a modular package intended for customized configurations.
Manage any charger you want: ChargePoint said the platform can manage OCPP-compliant chargers from multiple manufacturers, allowing operators to onboard and control different charger models through one system.
Scalable, modular, and secure cloud architecture: ChargePoint said the platform combines capabilities from its charger management system, tools for charge point operators, and fleet telematics. The company said the system includes encryption and continuous monitoring and is built as a cloud-native platform for scalability and updates.
All-new user interface: ChargePoint said the redesigned interface includes:
Personalized dashboards: Customizable views intended to surface metrics relevant to different roles, including operations, fleet, facilities, and finance.
Real-time insights: Live monitoring of charger status, energy use, and session analytics through interactive graphics.
Simplified workflows: Guided setup, automated alerts, and one-click access to common actions.
Mobile-first experience: A responsive design intended to work across desktop, tablet, and smartphone.
Accessibility and localization: Support for accessibility standards and multiple languages.
