NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA) has announced the winners of its 16th Annual Green Fleet Awards on August 15. These awards honor organizations that have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to reducing their environmental impact by prioritizing innovative fleet sustainability initiatives.

Top honors are awarded to the city of Phoenix, AZ for its strong dedication to green fleet practices, demonstrating how proactive measures can lead to a more sustainable urban landscape.

The Green Fleet Awards commemorate the accomplishments of both governmental and commercial fleets across North America. The winners were announced yesterday at the 2023 Sustainable Fleet Technology Conference. 50 fleets were recognized with special recognition extended to three outstanding awardees:

  • Best Policies and Procedures: City of San Diego, CA

  • Best Fuel Technology Integration: Chesterfield County, VA

  • Rookie of the Year: Town of Warrenton, VA

The recipients of these awards have exhibited an exceptional level of dedication to reducing their carbon footprint, adopting alternative fuels, implementing energy-efficient technologies, and embracing initiatives that prioritize sustainability without compromising efficiency.

“This year’s awardees’ unwavering commitment to driving change and embracing eco-friendly practices not only sets a new standard for our industry but also inspires us to envision a future where environmental consciousness seamlessly merges with operational excellence,” said certified association executive and CEO of NAFA Bill Schankel in a recent news release. “Congratulations to all of the winners – your dedication helps create a greener, brighter future for us all.”
