Mercedes-Benz Vans has announced that its fully electric Concept EQV is making its official debut at this year’s IAA Commercial Vehicles trade event in Hannover, Germany in September.
The new addition to the Mercedes-Benz lineup is projected to have a travel range of 405 kilometers (250 miles) and a rapid charging high-voltage battery from 10% to 80% in less than 45 minutes (from a DC fast charge port).
The battery is located below the floor allowing for maximum space utilization inside the vehicle. Seating configurations are customizable and there are two wheel bases to choose from.
The vehicle is slated for private or commercial use. Currently, there is no official date of when the vehicle may be available for purchase to the public or whether Mercedes plans the EQV for the U.S.
Mercedes-Benz first developed the “EQ” technology brand in 2016 and has unveiled several concept vehicles since its inception, with the “EQV” being the first to go to production.
