2025 Ioniq 5 Offers Extended Range and Fast Charge Times

The 2025 Ioniq 5 lineup debuts with a longer range, ultra-fast charging, and a range of upgrades, marking its production start at Hyundai’s new U.S. Metaplant.

Hyundai revealed pricing, driving ranges, and charge times for its refreshed 2025 Ioniq 5 electric vehicle (EV) family.

The new model year Ioniq 5 receives a slate of enhancements including increased battery capacity, longer driving range, and new features. The Ioniq 5 is the first model range manufactured at Georgia’s new Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) facility.

Extended Range Requires Enhanced Charging

The EV features a new North American Charging Standard (NACS) port and standard Combined Charging System (CCS) adapter, allowing the 2025 Ioniq 5 to access 36,000 NACS and CCS DC fast chargers.

  • Ultra-fast Charging: 10-80% in about 20 minutes on a 350-kW ultra-fast CCS charger.

  • Backward compatible with legacy U.S. 400V infrastructure.

  • 2025 Ioniq 5 models include a complimentary CCS DC adapter

“The native NACS port and newly extended driving range of the 2025 Ioniq 5 will make the ownership experience and road trips more convenient and enjoyable for our customers,” Olabisi Boyle, senior vice president of product planning and mobility strategy at Hyundai Motor North America, said.

“The changes we have made inside and out to the Ioniq 5 lineup were asked for and highly desired by our consumers,” she continued.

The 2025 Ioniq 5 interior includes a 12.3-in. audio/video navigation (AVN) system, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and Hyundai Digital Key 2 Premium (available on SEL trim and above).

Refreshing Ioniq 5’s Technology, Safety, and Design

The updated Ioniq 5 introduces several new infotainment features, including a 12.3-in. audio/video navigation (AVN) system, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and Hyundai Digital Key 2 Premium (available on SEL trim and above) for NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy, and UWB functionality.

Over-the-air (OTA) update support is now available for controllers, along with Smart Cruise Control 2 and multiple USB-C ports for data and charging across both front and rear seats.

On the safety front, the SE trim includes Blind-Spot Collision Warning, while Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist is available on the SEL trim and above.

New features include Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (available for reverse, forward, and side on XRT and Limited) and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 for XRT and Limited trims.

Exterior changes include restyled front and rear bumpers, redesigned rear spoiler, and added rear windshield wiper and washer. The 2025 Ioniq 5 also features more aerodynamic wheels and optional flush-type roof rails.

Ioniq 5 XRT Debuts in 2025

The XRT, a new Ioniq 5 trim, is an all-wheel drive-only model with a dual motor and an 84-kWh battery, featuring a +23mm lift for 7-in. ground clearance.

It has XRT-specific black 18-in. alloy wheels with 235/60 R 18 all-terrain tires, a terrain mode selector, and custom front and rear fascias with digital camouflage cladding.
