Rivian has announced a new partnership with Samsara Inc. 

Samsara Inc. is the creator of the Connected Operations Platform, an Industrial Internet of Things Technology (IIoT) that enables fleet managers to monitor, collect, exchange, and analyze fleet data to improve operations.

This collaboration aims to simplify fleet management by addressing the evolving needs of diverse fleet management, including the growing adoption of Rivian Commercial vans. 

In a recent press release, Tom Solomon, Vice President of Business Development at Rivian, said their “collaboration with Samsara provides a streamlined approach to securely accessing vehicle data, empowering businesses to optimize their fleet operations and improve overall efficiency.”

Integration has many key benefits, including:

  • Unified Data: Provides a single platform for viewing Rivian vehicle data alongside other fleet assets.

  • Enhanced Visibility: Offers real-time insights into vehicle location, condition, and use.

  • Scalable Solution: Supports the management of both small and large fleets.

  • Simplified Operations: Enables secure data access with immediate activation.

It also provides a view of comprehensive vehicle operations, such as location, speed, mileage, state of charge, and seatbelt usage. This data is useful for optimization in the delivery and rental sectors.

Tom McNeela, Vice President of Hardware Product Management at Samsara said, “Samsara is committed to providing our customers with a unified platform that simplifies their operations and empowers them to make data-driven decisions. We are excited to partner with Rivian to streamline access to their vehicle data, enabling our customers to more effectively manage their electric fleets and accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation,” in a recent press release.

Samsara’s Connected Operations Platform enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. Their mission is to increase the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the operations that power the global economy.

Rivian is an American automotive manufacturer that develops and build EVs, as well as software and services that support the lifecycle of a vehicle. Its goal is to accelerate the global transition to zero-emission transportation and energy. Rivian vehicles are built in the U.S. and sold directly to consumers.  

Samsara’s integration with Rivian is now available to customers in the U.S.
