Lynkwell has completed integrating WEX payment technology into its electric vehicle (EV) charging software and service platform, the companies reported Aug. 14.
Fleets can now use the WEX DriverDash mobile app or RFID card to start charging sessions at thousands of Lynkwell stations nationwide. WEX joins Lynkwell’s roaming partners, which include ChargeHub and Hubject.
Program Details
The integration allows fleet drivers to authenticate and pay for charging sessions through WEX tools. Fleet managers can monitor activity via Lynkwell’s centralized dashboard, which provides real-time reporting, budget controls, and compliance auditing. Operators can set subscription, per-kWh, or dynamic-rate pricing, and the system is scalable for fleets of varying sizes and geographic reach.
Platform Capabilities
Lynkwell’s EV platform offers:
XLynk Level 2 Charger: 80 Amp, Build America, Buy America compliant, with lifetime warranty.
AutoCharge depot dharging: Plug-in authorization without apps or RFID cards.
Energy management: Cloud-based dynamic energy allocation.
Interoperability: OCPP 1.6/2.0.1 certified, tested with over 20 manufacturers.
OpenADR 2.0b Certification: Supports load management and demand response.
Automated integrations: Google Maps, AFDC, Apple Maps, PlugShare via OCPI.
Plug and charge: ISO15118 implementation with Hubject and Irdeto.
Leadership Perspectives
“This integration supports fleets in managing ICE and EV assets in one platform, streamlining payment access, and reducing administrative work,” said Nick Bordeau, vice president of software engineering at Lynkwell.
“At WEX, our goal is to simplify operations for fleet customers,” said Jay Collins, senior vice president and general manager, EV & Mobility at WEX. “Fleet operators can now manage fueling and charging through a unified process.”
