Earlier this year, Ford announced the Ford E-Transit would hit the U.S. market for the 2022 model-year. It will be made available with several chassis options and is aimed at helping businesses achieve sustainability goals and a lower cost of ownership, the automaker said.
The all-electric E-Transit, which will be American-built, is part of Ford’s more than $11.5 billion investment in electrification through 2022. The all-electric Ford Transit chassis options will include cargo van, cutaway and chassis cab, plus three roof heights and three body lengths.
A recent survey from Ford revealed that customers across the globe are increasingly considering the environmental impact of deliveries. Here is a snapshot below on some of the results of the survey:
Care about their carbon footprint. Over 60% of Americans and 68% of British citizens care about the environmental impact of delivering goods to their homes.
Open to electrified delivery services. In all three countries surveyed (U.S., U.K., Germany), half of respondents said they’d choose a green delivery service over a gas-powered one if price and arrival times were the same, with 54% in the U.S. and nearly 60% in the U.K. saying the same.
Wait longer to be ‘green’: Even if they had to wait longer for a delivery via zero emissions vans, close to half of Americans and British citizens said they would do so.
