Fleet managers can once again place orders for the Volkswagen ID.4 all-electric SUV. The automaker put the vehicle back on sale after a door handle recall of an estimated 99,000 vehicles halted sales in fall 2024.
Door Handle Parts Now Available
The OEM was able to reopen sales for the vehicle after it received the parts needed to both sell new ID.4s and make repairs to current owners' vehicles, according to a news release.
Affected vehicles include the 2021-2024 model year ID.4, Automotive Fleetpreviously reported.
Assembly of the ID.4 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is set to resume in the coming weeks, with the aim of re-instating the ID.4 to its prior position as one of the best-selling electric vehicles in the U.S. and Canada.
To celebrate the cars coming back onto the market, Volkswagen will be making what it calls highly competitive lease offers on ID.4s.
