Randy Marion Isuzu, LLC, a member of the Randy Marion Automotive Group, has ordered 6,000 Class 1 electric cargo vans from Mullen Automotive, Inc., an emerging electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer.

The order agreement is valued at about $200 million. Mullen recently announced RMA as its first commercial dealer partner to offer sales, service and parts for Mullen Automotive’s commercial vehicle lineup.

“There’s significant pent-up customer demand for Mullen to fulfill. I have many customers looking at me to find product for their companies,” said Randy Marion, CEO and founder of RMA, in a news release.  

Mullen’s commercial EV lineup includes Class 1-3 cargo van and cab chassis offerings and Bollinger Motors medium-duty Class 4-6 chassis products. The Class 1 electric van has a maximum payload of 1,700 lbs. and a cargo volume of 160 cu.ft. The range is 110 mph on one charge.

“The Randy Marion Automotive team is fully aligned with our Class 1 EV plan and is well positioned to help us capitalize on our first mover advantage in the commercial EV segments,” said David Michery, chairman and CEO of Mullen Automotive.

In addition to acquiring controlling interest in Bollinger Motors and buying the assets of electric delivery van maker ELMS, Mullen also recently partnered with Loop Global on EV infrastructure and charging. Loop Global, an EV charging solution provider, will work with Mullen to build the next generation of public and private EV charging technology, infrastructure, and network solutions, according to a report in Work Truck.

Mullen EV Charging Network Powered by Loop will support level 2 and level 3 DC fast charging. The turnkey solution will include everything from site assessment and design to installation and ongoing operation.

It will also feature fast-charging capabilities and smart charging technology. The companies are teaming up to finance and/or own and operate EV charging infrastructure through Loop’s unique financing program, called the Loop Impact Fund.
