When it comes to the management of gas and diesel fuels, the fleet industry has the benefit of years of technology and product development in systems and processes to support keeping costs in line, crunching actionable data, and enhancing safety and security. 

Enter fleet electrification: Electricity usage and costs need to be managed with the same care and features as liquid fuels, but require fleet managers to acquire new general knowledge, training, and strategies. 

This issue will be examined on June 8 when Fleet Forward the Tour returns to Chicago at the Hilton Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center.

In the seminar “How to Manage Electricity as a Fuel,” attendees will understand how software is used to manage depot charging sessions and equipment as well as monitor offsite charging events. They’ll also learn how new software integrates with existing fleet systems, including ICE fuel management, and how to access data to drive greater fleet efficiencies overall.  

The seminar will be presented by Mike Terreri, senior EV product manager for AssetWorks’ electric vehicle initiatives. Terreri has worked in both the private and public sectors managing high-profile equipment, clean energy technology, and outreach initiatives.

A Regional Networking Event

An offshoot of the Fleet Forward Conference and now in its second year, Fleet Forward Tour stops consist of one-day, regional events in which fleet operators can network with local fleet peers, interact with tabletop exhibits, take in educational programming, drive EVs, and experience other new technologies behind the wheel.

After Chicago, The Tour will stop in New York/New Jersey on Sept. 13 followed by Dallas on Oct. 3. The Fleet Forward Conference will convene in Santa Clara Nov. 8-10.
