Lucid reported that one of its vehicles recently achieved the longest range in the 2025 Norges Automobil-Forbund Winter Test, known as “El Prix,” conducted under extreme cold-weather conditions in Norway.
A Lucid Air Grand Touring traveled 323 miles on a single charge, with temperatures reaching minus 31 degrees Celsius.
The drive was completed without charging stops and followed a route from Oslo into Norway’s highlands, including city traffic, highways, mountain roads, and secondary roads. The next closest vehicle reached 262 miles.
“This result reflects how the Lucid Air performs in real-world winter conditions,” said Lawrence Hamilton, Lucid president of Europe, in a Jan. 29 news release.
Winter Test Results And Vehicle Performance
The NAF Winter Test evaluates the range and charging performance of electric vehicles under typical Nordic winter conditions. All vehicles begin fully charged and drive a standardized route until they can no longer maintain the posted speed limit.
The 2025 test included 24 vehicles and followed a route from Oslo through Lillehammer and Dombås, with a final segment between Hjerkinn and Rondane Gjestegård repeated until each vehicle reached its limit.
The Lucid Air Grand Touring is equipped with Lucid’s in-house electric powertrain technology and carries a WLTP-rated range of up to 597 miles, with a combined energy consumption rating of 13.5 kWh per 62 miles/100 kilometers. Output is rated at 611 kW, and the vehicle has a top speed of 168 miles per hour. Lucid reports the battery can add up to 249 miles of range in about 16 minutes under fast-charging conditions.
Prior Range Testing
Lucid Air Grand Touring also recorded the longest range in the 2025 NAF Summer Test, traveling 515 miles, surpassing the 2023 record. Earlier in July 2025, the vehicle completed a 749-mile journey on a single charge during an independent range evaluation.
