VinFast Hits the Road in U.S. Market This Week

The VinFast VF8 and VF9 come in two trims, Eco and Plus, with different standard equipment levels. VinFast’s first VF8 models will be powered by batteries from South Korea’s Samsung SDI Co Ltd., but the automaker has been developing its own batteries as a hedge against potential sourcing disruptions.

VinFast will hold a delivery event March 1. For those customers unable to attend, they can have their vehicles delivered at home or they may schedule a pickup at a VinFast store starting March 2. VinFast has stores in Los Angeles, Marina del Rey and Irvine.

VinFast also announced multiple test drive events throughout California for customers to experience the new VinFast EVs.

“The presence of VinFast electric cars on U.S. streets in the coming days is an important milestone, accelerating VinFast's journey to compete in the US and abroad,” said Madam Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chair of Vingroup and Chairwoman of VinFast, in a news release. “Following deliveries in the U.S. market, VinFast expects to deliver EVs in Canada, France, Germany, and the Netherlands."

The VF 8 City Edition offers many smart technology features such as advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) and smart services to become a mobile platform. These features will be enhanced regularly using over-the-air (FOTA) updates to improve how the vehicles function.

Several leading insurance companies in the U.S. have confirmed they will provide vehicle insurance for VinFast owners. VinFast also offers a 10-year warranty for their vehicles and batteries, mobile repair services, and 24/7 roadside assistance.
