Hyundai Motor Company debuted its all-electric SUV concept, SEVEN, at AutoMobility LA in the Los Angeles Convention Center on Nov. 17.
The SUV concept was showcased on stage in front of a video presentation featuring José Muñoz, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America.
“Today marks a milestone in Hyundai Motor Company’s journey as a smart mobility solutions provider,” Muñoz said. “SEVEN takes a monumental leap forward in eco-friendly transportation.”
The SEVEN concept is Hyundai’s third model in its ionic family of battery-electric vehicles.
Muñoz said the company is making investments in clean mobility to address global climate change caused by the rise in carbon emissions.
“We envision a future in which hydrogen is the primary power source for everyone,” Muñoz said.
SangYup Lee, head of Hyundai Global Design, further discussed the design of the SEVEN concept.
“We designed to bring exciting and emotional experiences to our customers,” Lee said. “At first glance, what you see is an aerodynamic pure form that is instinctively divergent from a typical SUV.”
The SEVEN concept features an aerodynamically curved roofline, and it aims to reach an all-electric range of 300 miles. The 800-volt charging system is able to charge the SEVEN from 10 to 80% in 20 minutes.

SEVEN includes a hygiene airflow system purifies the air and it can isolate front and rear occupant air to prevent potential cross-contamination.
“Research shows that people, especially families, want a big, bold, high-capacity vehicle that not only meets their needs but also improves their lives,” said Olabisi Boyle, VP of Product Planning and Mobility Strategy at Hyundai Motor North America. “With its range, high-speed charging, vehicle to load power sharing, and hygiene airflow system, SEVEN is truly the sport utility electric vehicle for the world we now live in.”
