The 2020 Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference (EUFMC) will be held May 31-June 3 at the Williamsburg Lodge and Conference Center in Williamsburg, Va.
"Essential Tools for Fleet Excellence" will be the focus of presentations by fleet executives, manufacturer representatives, and industry experts. The educational program is currently being planned by the EUFMC Board of Directors. Topics covered during the 2019 General Session included workforce productivity, heavy-duty fleet electrification, load securement, department organization, and legal issues.
The EUFMC began in 1953 as a regional meeting of electric utility fleet managers. It now includes educational roundtables where fleet executives address common challenges by sharing best practices and working with suppliers, utility equipment drive-through demonstrations from suppliers, and an equipment show that includes more than 60 displays of vehicle, equipment, components, and technologies and services.
Attendance at the 2019 show included 128 utility fleet representatives from nearly 70 investor-owned electric utilities, electric cooperatives, and electrical contractors, including about 30 first-time attendees.
