Rizon, the all-electric commercial truck brand from Daimler Truck, has delivered two Rizon e18L trucks to Plett Truck Repair, further advancing the brand’s growing presence in Canada’s zero-emission commercial vehicle market.
The two medium-duty electric trucks—each upfitted with a box body—will be integrated into Plett’s customer service operations. Rizon said that underscores the growing appeal of zero-emission solutions among forward-thinking commercial vehicle specialists.
Based in British Columbia, Plett Truck Repair is well known in the regional trucking industry for its commitment to quality service and innovation, a Rizon press statement said.
“This delivery reflects consumer confidence in Rizon’s technology and our commitment to supporting a cleaner, more efficient future for commercial transport,” said Andreas Deuschle, Global Head of Rizon Truck. “We’re proud to partner with businesses like Plett Truck Repair that recognize both the operational and environmental advantages of adopting electric trucks.”
The delivery caps off a busy period for Rizon, which also completed handovers to several municipalities in Vancouver and Quebec, as well as a business in Victoria, B.C.
EV Incentives in Canada
Rizon provides medium-duty electric trucks that meet the growing demand for sustainable fleet solutions. These trucks are eligible for the iMHZEV federal incentive, which offers approximately $75,000 per vehicle at the point of sale, with additional provincial incentives of up to $75,000 available in British Columbia.
With a growing dealer network across British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec, and models offering up to 257 km of range, Rizon said its trucks are designed to deliver real-world value in urban logistics, service, and municipal applications.
Daimler Truck’s Zero-Emission Brand
Rizon is Daimler Truck’s ninth, and newest, brand and represents its dedication to zero-emission transportation. The brand and its trucks were announced to the public for the first time during the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in May of 2023, in Anaheim, California, and are currently in operation for customers on American and Canadian streets.
Class 4-5 Trucks in Canada
For Canadian customers, the Class 4-5 medium-duty battery-electric vehicles will range from 15,995 to 18,850 pounds in gross vehicle weight (GVW) and can run up to 177 km (for the M size variant with two battery packs) and up to 257 km (the L size variant with three battery packs) on a single charge.
Battery Charging System Options
Two types of battery charging systems can charge Rizon trucks: DC Fast Charging (via CCS1 connector) and less expensive Level 2 AC Charging (via J1772 connector).
This flexibility means customers can expect to charge their truck today while being ready for DC Fast chargers in the future.
As of October 2023 under standard testing conditions with 50% payload. The range may vary based on environment, conditions, battery health/charge level, recuperation usage, road traffic/profile, and style of driving.
Rizon Dealer Network in Canada
Rizon’s current network of dealers in Canada includes nine locations across British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec with plans to expand to other locations in the near future.

Rizon trucks are distributed in Canada exclusively by Rizon Truck Canada, which is based in Surrey, BC. It is a subsidiary of Velocity Vehicle Group, one of the largest full-service commercial truck dealerships in North America and one of the most experienced electric truck dealers in the world.
