Photos: LG Opens First US EV Charger Manufacturing Facility

Automotive Fleet's associate editor Louis Prejean was on site as LG Electronics opened its first factory in the United States for assembling electric vehicle charging stations on Jan. 12.

The factory is located in Fort Worth, Texas. Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker and other officials cut the ribbon at the new plant, joining LG Electronics senior executives Alec Jang, president of the LG Electronics Business Solutions Company; H.K. Suh, global head of LG’s EV Charger business; and Nicolas Min, president of LG Business Solutions USA.

Alec Jang, president of the LG Electronics Business Solutions Company, said the factory opening "marks a major step in LG’s roadmap to support the electrification of America."

Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker takes the stage for her remarks on the benefits of the factory, citing that Forth Worth takes "pride in knowing that LG’s advanced EV charging stations that will be deployed across the United States will be built right here."

LG displayed an 11kW Level 2 Charger at the factory opening, which features a 48Amps AC power output and seven-meter charging cable.

LG's175kW and 200kW DC Fast Charger Dispensers were on display, both featuring a 24-inch touchscreen.
