The enclosed photos were taken at General Motor’s media event to reveal the new Chevrolet Silverado EV on June 20-21.

The 2024 Silverado EV 4WT model lists for $77,905 MSRP. In Q4, fleet buyers will be able to spec a WT model with a 350-mile range battery for $72,905. The consumer-oriented RST first edition will be available with a 400-mile battery in Q4 too, and that goes for $105,000.

Initial Silverado EV units are being rolled out to GM’s first 350 commercial customers now, though order banks are closed to new fleet orders for the foreseeable future.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV was designed from the ground up around the truck’s battery. Compared to its traditional ICE sibling, the first noticeable change is the shorter front. The more narrowed design makes it the most aerodynamic truck from GM yet.

The Silverado EV has a max of 10.2 kWh of off-board power to charge tools on the jobsite and seven to 10 outlets to access that power, including outlets in the frunk.

The interior for this WT model is more refined than the base models of old, with upholstery stitching, thoughtful storage spaces including a 7-gallon main storage compartment, an 8-inch instrument cluster screen, and an 11-inch infotainment touchscreen.

The truck’s EV architecture also allows for a backseat that gives an inch more legroom than the ICE Silverado. The second-row split bench also folds up to reveal a hidden storage department.

The truck comes in a crew cab with a 5’ 11” bed, the only configuration to date. A tonneau cover and GM’s bumper inset CornerStep are standard.

While the truck doesn’t have a start button — the truck turns on upon entry and off upon exiting — GM kept the climate controls physical instead of digital.

The 11-inch infotainment display is integrated with Google Maps for voice activated navigation. Users can ask it to navigate to the nearest DC fast charging location, for example. The map displays estimated state of charge at various stops.

The charging port is located at the back of the bed, closer to how chargers are arranged in parking lots.

This is GM’s way to trumpet Silverado EV’s towing weight limit. Towing will deplete range by half or more, yet Silverado’s top range of 450 miles opens up wider towing use cases.

Without an axle, Silverado EV has a lower center of gravity compared to an ICE Silverado. The truck’s “air curtains” off the cab will remind some of the Chevy Avalanche.

The truck’s frunk, or “E-Trunk,” has 11 cubic feet of space, slightly fewer than F-150 Lightning’s 14.1 cubic feet. The frunk is drainable and has electrical outlets for worksite power.
