UK's Royal Mail Fleet Trials Emission-Reducing Tires

The Royal Mail postal delivery service is undertaking a trial of emission reducing tires to evaluate their impact on the environment. The trial, lasting between six to nine months, involves 15 electric vans driving on tires specifically designed to help reduce particulate matter emissions, increasingly fingered - along with brake dust residue - as a source of vehicle pollution.

LeasePlan and Arrival Partnership to Bring Electric Vans to European Cities

LeasePlan, a global fleet management company, and Arrival, a global electric vehicles (EVs) manufacturer announced a partnership in which LeasePlan will be the preferred operational leasing partner for Arrival electric vans. The partnership is based on an initial order of 3,000 vans, with the sales agreement expected to be finalized in Q3 2021.

Fit for 55: EU Announces Ambitious Decarbonization Plans

Fleets operating in Europe will be forced to electrify vehicles by 2035 under far-reaching plans announced  on July 14, 2021 by the European Commission. Called the European Green Deal and dubbed ‘Fit for 55’, the plan embraces the EU’s climate, energy, land use, transport and taxation policies making them fit for reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030, compared with 1990 levels.

New BloombergNEF Report Says EVs To Rise Faster Than Ever

A new report from authoritative electrification analysts, BloombergNEF, says that electric vehicle (EV) sales are likely to accelerate at a rate greater than ever experienced before. However, in its annual Electric Vehicle Outlook report, BloombergNEF says that Governments need to encourage adoption further if they wish to be net-zero on carbon emissions by 2050.

Ford Reveals More Details on All-Electric 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

On May 19, 2021, Ford Motor Co. announced more details on the 2022 all-electric F-150 Lightning that will deliver a targeted 563 horsepower and 775 lb.-ft. of torque – the most torque of any F-150 ever. The F-150 Lightning will roll off the production line next year at a new high-tech factory at Ford’s Rouge complex in Dearborn, Mich.
