A successful test at Notre Dame has led the manufacturer to expand its EV Campus Program to universities and colleges nationwide.
The vehicle will be used for Bruinaccess, a complimentary paratransit service provided by UCLA for qualified individuals curb to curb rides from most points on or near campus.
The initial group of 11 universities and colleges increases total electric vehicle commitments by 225 fleets to almost 3,800 EVs.
The partnership will help the University of Pittsburgh reduce costs and upgrade its fleet with alternative energy vehicles, which will further support the university’s commitment to making the campus carbon neutral by 2037.
The university expects to save nearly $750,000 with its new battery-electric mobile surgical instrument lab (eMSIL) instead of contracting a third party.
