A Northern California woman who rented a smart vehicle from carsharing startup Gig ended up stranded in the woods Valentine's Day weekend.

In an article in The Guardian, the woman said that a their remote location inhibited the software and made the vehicle unsuable. A customer service representative told the woman because the vehicle was out of cell service range, the software coud not be remotely reset.

The vehicle had to be towed.

Customer service reportedly told the woman that this happened frequently along that stretch of highway.
