Toyota has extended the hybrid battery warranty for several 2020 model year alt-fuel vehicles in its lineup by two years and 50,000 miles.

This extension is valid for all new model year 2020 Toyota hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fuel cell electric vehicles, according to Toyota. It will extend its hybrid battery warranty from 8 years / 100,000 miles to 10 years from date of first use/150,000 miles.

Applicable vehicles in Toyota’s 2020 lineup includes the fourth-generation Prius; the Prius Prime; the Corolla Hybrid; third-generation Camry Hybrid; second-generation RAV4 Hybrid; Avalon Hybrid premium sedan; New 2020 Highlander Hybrid; and the current generation Toyota Mirai fuel-cell EV.

All other hybrid vehicle components will retain coverage under the Hybrid System Warranty at 8 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and includes the hybrid battery control module; hybrid control module; and inverter with converter.
