For the creation of its new Mobilib service, the City of Paris has charged Ubeeqo with management of 850 on-street parking spaces with or without charging stations, following calls for tenders.

These new parking spaces will enable Ubeeqo, owned by Europcar, to expand its fleet of self-service vehicles, enhancing mobility for Parisians. They will feature vehicles of all categories, with a large proportion of electric and hybrid cars. As a result, Ubeeqo will be providing a total of nearly 1,100 vehicles by the end of 2019.

To create its Mobilib service, the City of Paris will be offering two kinds of services:

  • Parking spaces with charging stations: Ubeeqo is the only company selected to operate this Mobilib service. The 713 parking spaces are thus attributed to the Europcar Mobility Group subsidiary, which will be responsible for providing Parisians with rechargeable electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Parking spaces without charging stations: the City of Paris selected four service providers to operate this Mobilib service (Ubeeqo, Drivy, Communauto, and Ada). Having won a total of 850 on-street parking spaces which complement its existing proximity parking offer, Ubeeqo now stands out as the number one car-sharing operator in the French capital.

Active in Paris since 2015, Ubeeqo has been growing since the introduction of its service. To meet the steady growth in user numbers (+20% every month in 2018), Ubeeqo’s fleet doubled between 2017 and 2018, reaching 500 vehicles at the end of 2018.
